New residence in the Spanish Colonial style, merging the historic architectural language with modern, loft-like spaces.
Nestled in the quiet, suburban neighborhood of Palos Verdes Estates, this romantic Spanish Colonial Revival home stands understated yet eye catching. This 3 Bedroom, 5 Bathroom residence boasts Mediterranean architecture and landscaping with an emphasis of indoor/outdoor living. Designed by architect Evan Braun, the homeowners had a vision of an authentic Spanish Colonial Revival style color palette with smooth white stucco, ironwork and windows trimmed in a Spanish blue hue. The tile roof is a functional design element that works to keep the house cool and is part of the design aesthetic. Evan designed a home that feels timeless. He helped the homeowners envision a home inspired by some of the original architects like Wallace Neff. While it is newly built, it has details that make it feel as though it has been here for years. It is hard not to appreciate the enduring details juxtaposed with a modern floor plan.
Inessa Nichols of Inessa Nichols Designs created the show stopping entry floral installment as well as the beautiful flowers throughout the home. Inessa Nichols Design wanted to showcase the style of this home by looking at the overgrown plant filled courtyards you will find all over Spain
Walking down the Mediterranean tree lined walkway to the home, you enter through classic Spanish motif doors to a two story foyer. On the ground floor, you find an office, two bathrooms, formal dining room, mudroom, kitchen, family room, and playroom.
Kari Dirkson of Feathered Arrow Events decorated the home for the holidays in elegant jewel tones and styled a cozy hot chocolate bar in the kitchen.
Staying true to the indoor/outdoor living vision, the loggia and backyard including a tile lined pool and jacuzzi, built in Big Green Egg grill and outdoor fireplace are directly outside accordion style doors.
Upstairs, you will find the laundry room, three bedrooms including the master, each with an en suite bathroom.
Within each room, you find familiar touches of Spanish and Italian design with the feel of a true family home.
